BB's return
PPP’s Chairperson and former Prime
Minister, Benazir Bhutto dashed to Karachi on October 17 after
ending her near a decade long self-exile abroad. This all became
possible after the passage of National Reconciliation Order (NRO)
by the government of Pakistan, which envisaged government’s
departure from its earlier stubborn decision of taking all those
into task who were hither to allegedly involve in misappropriation
of funds or misuse of authority.
After getting green signal from
home she decided her comeback at the altar of break away of
popular opposition alliance called “Alliance for the Restoration
of Democracy” (ARD). Mr. Nawaz Sharif-led strong group as well as
other components of ARD bid farewell to it and instead formed “All
Parties Democratic Movement” (APDM).
Tens of thousands of people from
all over the country were attracted to Karachi to welcome her. The
carvan headed by Ms. Benazir Bhutto left airport by the sunset.
Standing atop a well designed
truck she started heading the venue of meeting point at
Mazar-e-Quaid.
All was well until the mid of same
night. As the big arm of the clock struck at 17 a sound of blast
near her truck took place which was followed by a sever one which
turned the whole jubliation into a mourning. As many as 150
innocent lives were lost and even greater number of people were
injured. Investigaters called it a suicide attack however, Benazir
Bhutto & rest of her allies dissented, demanding a full fledged
enquiry.
Blasts, suicide attacks, ambushes
or assaults all are meant to create disharmony and destablise the
government. It all happened at the expense of lives of poor
people.
Inquiry commissions are usually
set & re-set to explore and investigate the causes and motives.
But nothing new could be extracted
out of these reports.
We condemn this barbarous attack
and pray for the departed souls and welfare of the bereaved
families.
We also demand to bring all those
culprits to book and ensure peace.
Musharrafan reforms in the shape of
landmark District Government System which came into force in 2001
besides record development in all sectors are some of his
credentials that makes his popularity graph up in and outside the
country.
People support him because they
found visible difference between him & his predecessors who spent
most of their times in plundering public exchequer and fooled the
whole nation with their lip services. Now the things are changed.
A full-fledged and independent
devolution system is on the ground serving the cause of nation
with utmost sincerity and ability. The system is run by none
others than the people themselves.
