Like elsewhere in the country, the on going District Government System has almost completed one and half years of its second successful tenure in Naushahro Feroze with its vibrant Zila Nazim Raees Ghulam Rasool Jatoi popularly known as Aqib Khan. If to analyse Aqib Khan's what ever the small period he has spent as the district head, one would surely be convinced to give second thought to his/her opinion about the bad impression created against the on-going system by some vested interests. Development schemes which have been completed with in stipulated time or those which are in progress with accelerated pace in & around the district of Naushahro Feroze fairly provide justification for the Federal government's claim about the system as a best fit for the modern societies like Pakistan.

“We don't agree with Tom, Dick and Herry's opinion about the bad impression created by the opposition, but now it has become a universal fact that the new system has started getting its roots deeper by winning the hearts of the people. When it is good for one area and how come it proves to be bad for the other area. It all depends upon the mind set of the elected officials of that particular area. You can differ on certain points to some body but opposing one's endeavors aimed at the betterment of the area & the people at large, for the sake of opposition is now become a fashion. For which one can only use his both ears,” remarked a Taxi driver of Kandiaro.

“Aqib Jatoi, the Zila Nazim, who is a scion of a landlord family pay regular visits around his district and personally enquire about the on going schemes and keep check on the mischief mongers,” he further said.

People consider his word as law. He never favours injustice being done to any one regardless of caste, creed or political association.

The agriculture which is the back bone of our national economy is again a favourite subject of the visionary Zila  Nazim. In order to mobilize agriculture related activity and making it more yielding, 98% subsidy has been offered to small growers/farmers keeping not more than 10 acres of land. The subsidy has been offered under the DRIP irrigation system.

Under the scheme only 2% of the total cost of the unit would be borne by the growers which has been described as the landmark achievement of Zila Nazim. Rs. 10 millions have been ear marked for the said scheme.

Under the scheme water losses would be minimized to a maximum level and help in improving agricultural activity and make it more scientific and result oriented.

Under the scheme, the farmers would not have to take extraordinary measures to get their land leveled.

“Besides water safety, the program offers equal advantage of energy saving. It is multifaceted project which also offers furtigation to the crops which would by and large minimize the abuse of fertilizers and the pesticides. This is a unique project and exists no where except Naushahro Feroze district,” described Mr. Saleem Vistro, EDO, Agriculture.

“Similarly under DERA II Program, 403 tube wells are proposed to be distributed among the low-income farmers, free of cost,” Mr. Vistro further disclosed.

The spread of poultry diseases is a common phenomenon in our country side. Aqib Khan Jatoi, who is very much alive to this problem, had initiated the setting up of Poultry Research Laboratory in his district under DERA II Program.

With the establishment of this laboratory the spread of diseases would be effectively controlled and monitored properly. Again, this initiative would help in igniting healthy competition in poultry farming and facilitate the small investors to invest in the area and generate their income without fearing any loss.

He is ruthless to exploiters, corrupt or those who thrive upon poor man's rights. Carving out greener Naushahro Feroze to creating law abiding & well educated society seems to be a definite aim of Aqib Khan for which he always strives hard bringing and executing ever new schemes, programs & seeking help of man power even outside his domain.

His microscopic eye on education & health services delivery in the area are enough to make his district a prosperous one and offer him a room in the galaxy of shining stars of popular Jatoi stalwarts.

For him, the slot which he occupies is unlike others is a status to uphold values based on sincere service of common man and considers it a rare chance to come upto the expectations of his electorate because, for a young politician like him 'sky is thy limit'.
