extraordinary meeting of the Board of Governors of the institute
which was held here under the headership of Dr. Abdul Qadeer Rajput, the Vice Chancellor of MUET & the Chairman of
BOG and took very important decisions to make the institute viable. The
campus was up in the arms since last one month against the behavior
of former Director, Dr. Rafiq Jhatial. According to reports
the BOG challenged the credentials of Dr. Jhatial
who was reportedly found academically misfit to head the Art &
Design institute. Dr. Bhai Khan’s appointment
as the CEAD head was widely hailed in the academic & art circles.
The students & the faculty members too had heave sigh of relief.

and Health Sciences, Jamshoro had a meeting with the officers
of the finance department of Liaquat University of Medical and
Health Sciences, Jamshoro.
Mr.
Ahsan Ali kehar
briefed the Vice Chancellor about the working in the finance wing
and financial matters and the problems confronted by the finance
wing. Vice Chancellor showed satisfaction at working of director
finance Mr. Ahsan Ali kehar,

Vice Chancellor asserted that problems confronted by the finance
wing will be solved at top priority and advised them to help the
university in making the working at finance wing a transparent
one. Later on Students of M.BB.S & B.D.S met the Vice Chancellor.
Vice Chancellor advised the Students to Concentrate on their studies. *** The
15th Meeting of the Academic Council of Liaquat University of
Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro was presided over by the
new Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Noshad A. Shaikh. In the meeting,
the members of the Council introduced themselves to the Vice-Chancellor
and extolled the steps taken by the previous Vice-Chancellor,
Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad A. Memon for uplifting the standard of
the University. They upheld that a reception may soon be tendered
in his honour. On
this occasion, Prof. Dr. Noshad A. Shaikh emphasized on maintaining
the standard of the University as a paradigm for others to follow.
He further stressed on particular and optimum attention towards
the medical and post graduation education at the University for
its further progression. In
the meeting, the Board of Study of the Radiology was approved,
while the development works were to continue. It was also unanimously
decided that the Summer Vacation will start from June the 15th,
2007 and will continue for the subsequent six weeks, whereas the
examinations will be conducted in accordance with their schedule. The
meeting was attended by Registrar, LUMHS, Prof. Afzal
Memon and the majority of the members of the Academic Council. *** The
Fifth Post Graduate Surgical Intensive Course was inaugurated
by the Vice Chancellor, Liaquat University of Medical and Health
Sciences, Jamshoro, Prof. Dr. Noshad A. Shaikh at the Post Graduate
hall, LUMHS Jamshoro on May the 16th, 2007. The Course has been
organized by the Department of Surgery LUMHS, Jamshoro; and it
will continue for two weeks for the postgraduates of M.S, FCPS,
and MRCS. The resource persons for the Course will be the renowned
professors and doctors of LUMHS, Jamshoro, The
inauguration ceremony was attended by various deans and chairpersons
of the faculties and departments of LUMHS Jamshoro. In his inaugural
speech, Noshad A. Shaikh appreciated the efforts of the Chairman
Department of Surgery, LUMHS, Jamshoro Prof. A. Razaque for organizing such an excellent course for the students
at LUMHS. He further emphasized that the faculty members should
join him to upgrade the undergraduate and postgraduate medical
Education. |
